Guardians of the Golden Land

Guardians of the Golden Land

Beautifully balanced with a focus on salt, sour, sweet and spice. Thai food is now one of the most popular cuisines in the world.

The Chef calls their cuisine Suvarnabhumi which, as well as being the name of the airport in Bangkok, means Siamese or Southeast Asian, translating as Golden Land.

The menu changes with the seasons and each dish comes with a beautifully explained story of the origin and its uniqueness. With every tale I was overcome with the time and effort that has gone into each and every dish.

They grow nearly all of their herbs, flowers and vegetables that are used in the restaurant and have put a lot of effort into restoring the land with local trees and plants to create a bird and nature sanctuary. This is all in  harmony with the gardens and farm and in turn creating harmony within our bodies with their dishes. They go to great lengths to make sure there is no processed sugars, chemicals  or msg in their dishes.

The menu is a 10 course unique dining experience. There is only one sitting and no menu. You 'Trust the Chef' and we are very glad we did!

This restaurant captures everything Travel Kitchen wants to advocate. Small (family)  business',  a depth and breath of  knowledge, integrity, creativity, service and most of all a love and passion of what they are doing.
